Floria and Crazy day today

Assalamualaikum wbt

Today I went to Floria with Ba at about 9am. I didn't have work today, I will start on Monday. Floria was launched. Had breakfast and lunch there. Didn't have much time to look around.

After lunch, this is what happened. We went back to the car where we parked. I started the engine. Suddenly the car went crazy. It honked continuously without stopping. It was so loud. I couldn't stop it unless I switched off the engine. I had no choice.

I had to get out of the place fast and go straight home. So that's what I did. The car honked all the way back home. People were looking. I acted normal like nothing strange is happening. The sound was deafening. This was a test so I had to be patient. Thankfully we arrived home quickly.

I switched off the engine and was so relieved. fuuuhhh.

My little getaway

Assalamualaikum wbt

Just when it was time for solat Jumaat, the guys went out. I didn't know what to do. Nobody was at the office, I was all alone. Suddenly, Liyana called me. She asked me where I was. I told her I am at work in Presint 2.

She said she wanted me to accompany her to Alamanda as she wanted to buy books in MPH. She hasn't finished her book vouchers. I said to come over and pick me up. I was happy at the thought of going to Alamanda with her. She's at Putrajaya for only a few days. Lucky she called me on time.

So I waited for her outside the building at the side walk. She arrived after 15 mins I guess. Her younger brother came with her as well. We went straight to Alamanda and got a parking spot just as we entered the carpark. We walked towards the cafeteria RASA and ate our lunch there. I had sizzling hot noodles with chicken and egg. Liyana and her brother shared sizzling rice with beef. We chatted till I finished my food.

After lunch, Liyana sent me back to my office. Thanks Yana. :) So back to work! haha. But I'm not doing anything cause I haven't been assigned to do anything yet. My real work will start tomorrow for sure. Tomorrow will be a busy day for me. Oh wait! I have to translate a press release about 1MDB from English to Malay.

Will share more soon.

My new work at My Putrajaya News

Assalamualaikum wbt

Today at 9 am, my father and I went to Kementerian Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya in Presint 2. We waited at the waiting room and then we were ushered by Encik Rahimi and two other men to the lift and went straight to the My Putrajaya News office. The office looks so nice. There are only 4 desks joined together in a square, a large office desk besides it facing the door and a sitting area of white couches.

We all sat at the white couches there and started chatting. We were given the My Putrajaya Newspaper to look through it. It was in Malay. I now know about this newspaper, it is published twice a month. The paper is about the news and events covered in Putrajaya.

After the brief chat about the work here and about the newspaper, they all left for a meeting except for one man. He is the advertising representative here. He chatted a bit with us and said that his son is working here and was a former student of Presint 8 school. He is a year older than me so I might know him.

This work will be interesting for me. I will be exposed in the field of journalism and will be doing the journalism work. Maybe covering news somewhere and taking some pictures of an event. I guess this will be a good experience for me.

I waited for the editor of the newspaper, to brief about my work. Soon he arrived at the office and sat at his large desk on its own next to the 4 joined desks. He asked about myself and if I did any practical on covering news or event. I didn't have any practical though. He then said one of the guys here will show me how to do the journalism work.

He then left the office. Soon two guys arrived the office and went straight to their desks. One of them asked about me. The other one just kept quiet. He looks familiar, I have seen him in my school. He is my senior if I'm not mistaken.

All of the people working here seems to be all men. So far so good. Just enjoying my space on my office desk just doing my own thing on the desktop computer. My desk is located on the right side. The guys here are just busy doing their work.

Alhamdulillah for this job. I guess that's all I have to say about my new work here. I hope I will gain good experience here and learn a lot about the world of journalism. Thank you for reading. :)

National Day of Azerbaijan

Assalamualaikum wbt

Tonight I went to the national day of Azerbaijan with my parents. As usual I would go for the fruits and sweets and then I ate lamb. Whenever I go to national days, it would be so boring. haha. I met the ambassadors and the ambassador of Azerbaijan and her daughter. Long time no see.

I knew her from the programme my father organized for the ambassadors a few months ago, the visit to Kuala Kangsar. This programme was to introduce the famous places in Kuala Kangsar to the ambassadors of Egypt, Azerbaijan, Romania, Japan, Ecuador and the High Commissioner of Pakistan.

We went to Bukit Merah Laketown Resort and visited the Orang Utan sanctuary, then to MCKK (Malay College Kuala Kangsar) where my father was student there, had lunch at Minister of Tourism’s House, The Sultan Azlan Shah Gallery, a museum that showcases the various displays pertaining to the royal family of Perak state and lastly to Masjid Ubudiah, a beautiful masjid with its golden dome and minarets.

I remembered having fun with the daughter, her name is isle. In Bukit Merah, Perak we went on a quadracycle, a four wheel bicycle. It was fun going around the park of Bukit Merah while pedaling the quadracycle. After that we went canoeing in the lake. I haven't done that since I was in form 1.

Okay, that's all for now. Just a brief story of today and the past. haha. Goodnite. :)

Festival Belia Putrajaya 2015

Assalamualaikum wbt

Today I went to the Youth Festival in Presint 4, Putrajaya with my friend Jaido, my sister and my maid. To be honest, I didn't enjoy my day there. We were there for about 4 hours from 11 am to 3 pm. Why didn't I enjoy? Well, I wasn't looking forward to it in the first place so I had no clue of what was going on and what events were there. I didn't have any interest at all. I just went there because I was asked out to go there. So I just followed and maybe I can see what's really going on there.

What happened to me there was, I had a big headache plus the heat and sun was just too hot for me. I can't stand the heat. This was no good for me. How could you enjoy anything if the weather is just not right? I would rather walk all day in cool breezy places than walk here. My first priority is WEATHER. Without good weather, I rather not go out of my house. haha.

The place of the event was so huge. There were 4 zones. The place didn't look so inviting or friendly.  I guess this event is not good in some parts like loud music and there weren't many people. I observed the people there, they don't seem to blend well with the event. Well I could be wrong as it was my first impression. The problem was, I was clueless. It seemed like nothing was happening there.

First of all we saw motorsports going extreme on the hilly land of soil. Dust was in the air. We had to cover our nose and walk on to the other zones. We went to the Indian youth department. There, we were put on free henna on our hands. I liked this. haha. I chatted with the girl putting henna on my hand. She had studied degree in masscomm in UPM and now she's working at Notthinham University as an event organizer if I'm not mistaken. She said she took journalism and said it was really good and the lecturers there were great. Suddenly I was interested and thought maybe I could study in UPM for a change. Who knows.

Next, we walked along the booths and I participated in a game by Jabatan Perangkaan Malaysia and won a notebook. The game was easy. All you have to do was answer a mathematical question and if you get it right, you have to throw the dice and if you get a big number, you get a big prize.

Another place I participated was the escape room. This was interesting. Me, Jaido, rose and 3 other people were made into a group and we waited for our turn to go in a room to solve the puzzles. The game was to figure out how to unlock two boxes and lastly figure out which wire to cut to stop the bomb. I figured the first part and we managed to open the first box. But for the second box, I was really dizzy, I couldn't understand a thing how to solve this puzzle.

So I asked the person in charge to help us with this. He did help us but unfortunately time was running out and my sister was trying to unlock the box but failed as she didn't realize she had clicked the wrong number. So we lost this game. It was such a pity. We could have won. The embarrassing part was, we were to take a group photo holding a board that read LOSERS. haha. Everyone was watching and laughing at us. Omg. Facepalm.

So yeah that was it.

My advise is do not go to these places if:
1) The weather is hot.
2)You have no clue what's there.
3) Does not benefit you.
4) You have a headache. haha

I actually regretted for not doing some research about the festival in the first place before it had even started the first day. I could have planned well and it would have been more enjoyable by then. I could have prepared of where to go, what to see, and what to do. Not to forget, where to park because parking far would be so exhausting for walking to and from the place of the event. So the conclusion is to be prepared.

But still, I don't really like to go to these kind of places. It makes me feel not at peace. I feel depressed sometimes. I'd rather go to the Masjid or programs that empower you. It would be the best place for youth! haha. That's all from me. Hope you enjoyed reading. Do leave a comment if there is anything you want to say. Do follow my blog. Thanks.

Interview for Degree Masscomm UiTM Shah Alam :)

Assalamualaikum wbt,

Today, I wore my soft pink baju kurung with flowers and a plain soft pink shawl to match. I arrived UiTM Shah Alam at about 7.45 am. Going there was smooth. I followed the map instructions and also GPS on my smart phone. When I arrived at the faculty of communication and media studies, I saw many students have arrived there already. I sat down on one chair beside a girl whom I knew. Her name is Nasrin if I'm not mistaken. I started talking to her about what to prepare for the interview. We memorized the current issues of GST, 1MDB and Malaysia 11k.

Finally it was 8.30 am but nothing happened. We waited and waited till it was 8.50 am. Finally the person in charge called us to register. I quickly ran up to the table to register my name.I just had to tick my name. Then, I had to go to the other table to take my number. But there was no one there. I was like what should I do next? Then came a man and woman. They started to give the numbers to us. I quickly lined up in front. My number was stated Panel 6 number 1. We soon went up the stairs on the right side of the faculty.

We went up to the third floor and entered the lecture hall. We all sat there and waited for the essay papers to be passed to us. The essay started at about 9.15 am. The question was " What is your opinion on Mass Media in Malaysia?". I was like, what should I write anyway? I honestly thought it would be an easy question like what is Masscomm and what is your contribution. The next page was a form to fill in the number in sequence of what programme to choose for degree. There were 8 programmes. So I wrote 1 for Publishing, 2 for Interpersonal and 3 for Management and Policy. We finished our essay half an hour later.

The person in charge began calling the panel numbers. Then my panel number 6 was called. So the group followed a girl to a computer room. We were asked to write our names according to our numbers in sequence in a piece of paper given. So I wrote my name on the first row as my number was number 1.

Soon after that, my number was called to the interview room. I was glad I was the first to be interviewed. I knocked the door and gave my salams. There were two panels in front and a chair opposite. Both of them were women. They asked me to put down my folder on their table and have a seat. They asked me to tell them about myself.

So I started by telling my name, where I live, I have completed my Diploma in UiTM Lendu, my parents occupations and my experiences in UiTM of what positions I held and what sort of activities I have joined in UiTM. Then they asked what programme am I choosing for degree.  I told them that I want to pursue in publishing and stated my reasons and also added that my father is a magazine publisher for the magazine called The Globalist. Then they asked why not take journalism. So I explained why.

They even asked me if they were to put me in other programmes such as broadcasting and advertising and would I accept it. I said well you can see in my result for those subjects. haha. They then asked me did I apply other Universities. I said I applied UPM and others. They asked, if you are accepted in UPM, will you go to UPM or UiTM?. I said I will go to UiTM because UiTM takes only two years for degree. One of them said no, it's three years. I told them, I took diploma for three years already so degree would be two years.

Then they asked what current issue do I know is happening in Malaysia. I said I know about GST, 1MDB and Malaysia 11k. So I chose to tell them about GST and they asked what I thought about it. Lastly they asked if I have any questions. I asked, am I good to be put in Publishing? haha. They said we will tell you the results when all of the students are interviewed. So that was it. Done for the interview! Alhamdulillah. I did quite a lot of talking by the way.

On they way out of the hall, I saw the billboard of the programmes and their organisation chart.

My first blog :)

Assalamualaikum, today is my first attempt to write a blog after years and years of procrastinating. I wanted to start this blog a long time ago to help myself to write more, improve my writing and start loving to write often. Actually I don’t like writing because I have never even tried to. Haha. Well, once and for all, I finally did it! I am so happy with myself but most importantly, I am grateful to Allah for he had acceded to my wish to write in my first blog. :’)
